Argh. Can I just say, graduate school is not for the faint of heart! Especially graduate school and a overly perfectionist, working mother of two. As you can see.... life basically stopped when classes started. Fifty papers (and two A's) later, they're about to start up again... SO, I'm going to attempt to quickly catch up. (Although, my mother is on facebook now so I'm debating the future of this blog entirely...)

Anywho, here's our summer in a nutshell:

We spent a lot of time outdoors...

...and with family.

My bff got married!

And my entire family was in the bridal party...

We had a blast in Panama City Beach...

...and celebrated the 4th of July at our house for the first time ever!

Noah and I enjoyed one of his last days of freedom with a pre-Kindergarten Extravaganza! We saw a movie in 3D, purchased a new toy, and indulged ourselves with cheesecake for lunch at The Cheesecake Factory.

Lucy potty trained and moved to a big girl bed!!!

We played dress up...

and made crafts.

Jason lost 50 pounds!

We said goodbye to the SUV we purchased in anticipation of starting a family. The old bucket of bolts brought both kids home from the hospital and it was bittersweet to trade it in...

But, we weren't sad for too long because we love our new Titan!!!

Noah headed off to school and makes me proud everyday!

And little Lucy is just as wonderful as ever!

Overall, it's been a fantastic summer! I hope everyone reading this has had a ton of fun too!

Here's hoping for a more active blog for this fall... maybe... fingers crossed.

Poor Jason had a memorable 31st birthday to say the least! It consisted of a 1000 year flood, lots of phone calls and watching the news, a quick trip to Logan's in the rain and a birthday cake that fell apart. Poor guy. =(

Wow, wow, wow!!! How in world is my baby boy 5 years old? Seriously, is that even possible? It seems like yesterday that I brought him home from the hospital! Although, I happy he’s becoming such an adorable big kid... oh how my heart hurts for my little baby.

But, enough about me...

I have a really cool 5 year old.

He has always been SO friendly. Not only to his family and friends... this guy has never met a stranger. He can strike up a conversation with anyone about anything. He is super social and just plain fun to be around.

He is very smart. He’s extremely inquisitive... always trying to figure out how things work and answer that pesky question, why? He loves to read and I can’t wait to see how he blossoms in Kindergarten this fall.

He is compassionate and very loving. He tries to please and hates to disappoint the people he cares about. He loves all the way and I’m lucky to be a recipient of such a wonderful gift.

I thank God everyday for this big kid! My first 5 years of motherhood have taught me so much and I’m so blessed to be able to call Noah my son!

Happy Birthday to my Boogs! I love you more than anything in the world!

If I weren't so tired... I'd write a hilarious post about an accident that occurred while browsing the aisles in Walmart. It would include a small rant about the effects of pregnancy on ones bladder and how a sneeze shouldn't contribute to anything other than expelling allergens...

If I weren't so lazy... I'd discuss the fact that my son may be a kleptomaniac. I'd share the worry and anxiety he causes me sometimes and I would debate the proper punishment for two incidents involving stealing other kids' hard earned sticks just to get another prize from the treasure box.

If I didn't worry so much about the crazies out there... I'd post a picture of my daughter in her first pair of big girl panties. Already an experienced shopper, she took 20 minutes to make her decision and decided not to conform to 2 year old girl trends by purchasing Thomas the tank engine underwear.

If I weren't so ashamed... I would disclose the grade I received on my GRE for graduate school. I would also explain how they told me not to try and pick out the experimental section (that wouldn't count for part of the grade) and blow through it, picking C, just to get out of there quicker. I'd share the regret I've felt for the past 2 days and debate the issue of whether or not I should retake it.

If I were just a little bit more motivated... I'd be happy that my husband just spent $100+ of his money on the P90x program and wants us to spend quality time together by exercising every morning. I'd rant about how much the guy on the video gets on my nerves and how I wish I had a YMCA membership instead.

If I felt like it... I'd go into the issue of my crappy ankle and the reason I'm having an MRI done on it Friday. But, I'm hoping it's nothing so I'll save that for later.

But, I do want to say...

.... how excited I am for my best friend! I hope the invitations come in soon!

... how much I'm looking forward to our little weekend water park trip in April!

... how much I love little baby Jesse E.

... how I love watching my big boy play t-ball this year! He's doing so much better!

... how much I'm looking forward to spring!

... how I'm relieved that my Papa did well in his procedure this week. And how much I love my grandparents!

... everything at home fell apart! Ack! Noah started getting sick promptly 1 hour after dropping the boys off at the airport. I'll spare you the oh so gory details but trust me, it was not pretty. Saturday night was horrific and we ended up spending Valentine's Day morning at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

They mentioned appendicitis when we arrived but eventually decided it was just viral after he responded well to Zofran and IV fluids. He was such a brave kid and didn't cry once throughout the entire ordeal. (I think I would have for sure.)

Many thanks to my parents and AJ and NeNe for being so supportive through it all! I don't think I would have made it without you!!! Anyway, Noah is doing well now and we have a RX for Zofran just in case that nasty bug decides to attack anyone else. (Every single finger and toe crossed!!!)

I didn't have my camera so my cellphone had to work. This is after he was feeling better!

Anyway, it's hard to justify buying a bunch of new, expensive computer parts to rebuild it when we have laptops all over the house. So, the extra money we had was spent on a new garage door panel instead. (Don't ask.)

SO, with all that being said. It will probably be a few more weeks of crickets around here as I'm just not as comfortable navigating my way around on this thing.

In other news... I'm going back to school!!! I just scheduled a test date for the GRE!!! I'm considering a master's degree in Allied Health or Public Health. We shall see!!!

I can't believe you're two!!! You are growing so fast... it breaks my heart!

These past 2 years have been such a joy with you around. You are such a sweet little girl. You have such a tender heart... caring for your baby dolls, showering me with kisses and hugs and crying when Daddy barely raises his voice with you. I love to listen to you learn new words and sentences ("I eat", "don't want to", "Hello Mommy") and I could listen to you sing songs all day long. SO, life has been a little crazy lately!

* My sweet bobby wobby has blocked tear ducts in both eyes and will undergo minor surgery on November 30th. It's an easy fix but they have to use general anesthesia which makes this overprotective mommy insanely nervous!

She did so well today at her consult... Three different people examined her and they dilated her eyes. She barely even flinched. I know she's going to do great...

* My best friend Amanda is engaged and wedding planning has commenced!!!

* Best friend deux is 28 weeks pregnant and is suffering from severe preeclampsia. She will be in the hospital until sweet baby girl is born (which, unfortunately, might be sooner rather than later). Please keep this family in your prayers!

* My out of pocket max has been met for the year on our insurance and I'm trying to take care of any and everything... but, I'm running out of time! Eeek!

* Did you know birthday parties don't plan themselves?!?! Hmmph!

So, I've done something I swore I would never do...

Poor Lucy doesn't get read to nearly as much as Noah did at this age. I try very hard to treat her the same in every way. I may even overdo it sometimes because I'm so fearful of her feeling second best to my bright boy, Noah.

But, I think I've failed her in the reading department.

So, aside from receiving a smack down from the other team (they don't technically keep score but let me tell ya... it was bad!), the HEAT, and getting eaten alive by chiggers... it was a fabulous game! I loved watching my baby boy!!! He really seems to enjoy himself and he's getting some much needed exercise (this kid can EAT!). Jason's going to work with him on a few things before next Saturday as he couldn't quite grasp the concept of who had the ball when it was being thrown in and which way to go.... haha!

It started off with no mousse for my frizz... or any other necessary grocery item for that matter.

We had to sneak our soggy macaroni and cheese out of the church building because we didn't want anyone to know it came from our house!

I'm talking sweet little pj's (including footie pajamas with little monsters on them!), cute shirts, adorable holiday stuff and all their pants come with an adjustable waist! Heaven for this mom!!!

This is where I would insert a picture of the HUGE stack of fall clothes I just bought from there... but I already put them all away. I was to excited to get them in the closet and evaluate what's left to buy for a winter wardrobe. Maybe I'll remember on Round 2. Little Lucy's closet is crying out for some new leggings!

Well, it's no cucumber (Remember this?) but he's proud of it nonetheless! Nana and Noah took on cantaloupe for the first time this year and did great! They dug into it before we even started dinner! Now, he just has to get the name right and he'll be all set!
